Welcome to Week 3!

Today we want to talk about grounding and the healing benefits of earthing.

“Grounding” means connecting with the Earth. Earth is like a gigantic battery that contains a natural, subtle electrical charge—a special kind of energy present in the ground.
Plants, trees and many other lifeforms are constantly connected to the ground’s electric energy.
Humans are bioelectrical beings living on an electrical planet.
All our cells transmit multiple frequencies that run our heart, muscles, and nervous and immune systems.
However, despite the power of Earth, in industrialized countries, we rarely go barefoot or sleep on the ground and live in high-rises far above its surface.
For many decades, people have increasingly been wearing rubber and plastic-soled shoes that act as a barrier to the Earth’s energy, insulating us from electrical contact with the Earth.
Grounding helps us to feel:
  • Centered
  • Solid
  • Strong
  • Balanced
  • Less tense
  • Less stressed
Science indicates that when we are grounded, our levels of inflammation and pain are lower. Circulation and the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the tissues in our body also improve.
Grounding helps cortisol, the stress hormone, to normalize. Cortisol helps control blood sugar levels, regulates metabolism, reduces inflammation and assists with memory formulation.

Week 3 Actions:

  1. While drinking your coffee, make a plan for grounding for the next 7 days and try to spend 30 minutes walking barefoot on sand or grass at least 3 times a week.
  2. Meditate with this song:

Close your eyes for a moment of relaxation and meditation. Before you start your meditation, come into relaxed sitting positions outside, preferably sitting on grass or sand with bare feet. Start breathing on your nose and exhale on your mouth and just calm your mind. When you feel relaxed, start the music, and listen to the guided meditation.

When you do your barefoot walking exercise repeat the following affirmation: “I stand barefoot on the earth to feel rooted and connected.”

3. Go and walk barefoot on grass or sand, and observe how you feel after 30 minutes grounding.
