Coffee Tasting (a.k.a Cupping)

Coffee starts its life as the seeds of a tropical fruit, traveling through an elaborate supply chain before it even reaches your cup. In this 60-minute class, we will explore the different factors that go into producing specialty coffees, including how they are grown, roasted and tested for quality.
We will taste-test coffee like the pros using the cupping method. No pressure for beginners: This is a great way to try new things in a new and memorable way! We will try three distinct coffees and discuss the nuances of each. If you are primarily used to tasting chocolatey/earthy/dark-roast coffee, this will be a game-changer for you!
Flavor wheels and tasting note worksheets will be provided. We will walk through the process of how to taste and compare attributes of each coffee. We will start with smelling dry grounds, then smelling wet grounds, then slurping warm coffee, and finally slurping cooled coffee in order to fully experience the coffees’ profiles.
After this class, you will be able to taste and understand coffee like a true professional. This way, whenever you try any coffee for the first time, you will know exactly what to look out for!

Brew The Perfect Cup with an AeroPress
Perfect for a team-building activity, mid-week coffee break, or a client appreciation event.
In this 60-minute workshop, we will go through a step-by-step demonstration for brewing a delicious cup of coffee with an AeroPress (a favorite brewing device of many coffee enthusiasts). We will explore proper ratios, ideal water temperature, how to use measuring tools, how to achieve proper extraction, proper grind size, best coffee brewing practices, pros and cons of different brewing devices, we will suggest our favorite coffee gear and open the floor for a Q&A session.
We will teach you the basics so you can experiment on your own and find out how to measure, grind, brew and enjoy your Pure Joy Coffee just the way you like it!
